Let's see if my predictions for Sachsenring come out any closer than any of the others I've made! Keep checking motogpod.com for new features. I just moved the site to a new host that offers a lot more flexibility than I had before, so I'm going to be implementing some new features very soon. And don't forget that the German GP Wrapup podcast will be posted at 9am Pacific time (UTF -8) on Monday, August 1. Check this page or motogpod.com to get that episode with the contest. I'm back! Sorry for the long break, but I had to take care of my Navy Reserve annual training. Great time of year to do it, it was a lovely 19 degrees F at night. Nothing like waking up with frost on the sleeping bag to make you know you're alive!
Enough of that, let's talk about what's on the show. Several interesting news items about team signings and structure, silly season is winding down. Laguna Seca is spending some big time money on track improvements for future MotoGP races. Plus, a somewhat delayed report about the tests conducted at Sepang and Jerez at the end of November.

* Max Tests Formula 1 Car
* Tech Segment #4- Frame
More Formula 1 testing? What is this? Well, it fills the gaps. The interview with Max McAllister didn't work out yet, I'm still working on it. In the meantime, we've got some news and we'll move on with the tech segments to the frame.

Episode 40: Sepang Test #2 and Mert Lawwill Interview
Posted January 27th, 2006 by bob43:10 minutes (16.93 MB)
* This Week's News
* Sepang Tests
* Mert Lawwill Interview
Got some good stuff today, first with some general MotoGP news, mostly silly season continued, then a report about the testing that took place at Sepang in Malaysia this past week, and then our tech segment today kind of diverges a little from the tech of MotoGP and we're going to talk with AMA Grand National Champion Mert Lawwill a little bit about an interesting device that he manufactures that allows riders to use a prosthetic arm for riding. Anyone who has ever seen the movie On Any Sunday will remember Mert Lawwill, and Mert was nice enough to do a phone interview.

And we'll finish up with part 2a of the suspension tech segment, and that's another phone call, this one with Max McAllister of Traxxion Dynamics. Very good show, hope you enjoy it!

* Qatar Test Report
* Max McAllister suspension part 2
* Chuck Aksland interview
We've got a quick report for the testing that took place in Qatar this past week, we have the second part of our chat with Max McAllister from Traxxion Dynamics to finish up the suspension tech segment. And then we're going to finish up today with another telephone interview, this one with Chuck Aksland, general manager for Team Roberts! I have to admit, I was pretty well floored and more than a little proud when I found out Chuck listened to MotoGPod, and he was nice enough to spend some time on the phone with me talking about the state of the team and some of their hopes for the season and what's going on with the motorcycle and all kinds of good stuff.

* World Superbike Qatar Qualifying Session 1 Report
* MotoGP/World Superbike comparo with Ross Flewell-Smith
* Dominic Dobson/SportVue interview
The good stuff just keeps on coming for MotoGPod lately, so just like the last few shows, we have a lot of cool stuff. MotoGPod listener Ross Flewell-Smith helps out with a research into lap times and other comparisons of MotoGP to World Superbike, so we have a conversation about that. We've also got an interview with Dominic Dobson, President and CEO of Motion Research Corporation, manufacturers of the SportVue, a really cool device designed for riders that gives you a helmet mounted display for speed, rpm, and gear. Also, World Superbike starts the season with Round 1 in Qatar and we have a qualifying report.
